Al-Qadisiyah Medical Journal (QMJ)  Use a double-blind peer-reviewing system to assure the quality of the publication. All manuscripts should be submitted through QMJ online manuscript management system https://qmj.qu.edu.iq/index.php/QMJ/about/submissions. For a manuscript with minimal QMJ requirements and within the journal's aims and scope, the editor-in-chief sends the manuscript to three external scientific reviewers who are not from the same institute as the authors and not of the editorial board of the QMJ.

QMJ depend on  Turnitin to check similarities prior to sending them to external reviewers. QMJ will informing Authors about the weather acceptance or rejection of their manuscripts through our online system with in average time 3-8 Weeks. QMJ depends mostly on external reviewers in addition to the help introduced by internal reviewers, the average time from primary acceptance to final publication about 4 Months

  1. Submission of Manuscript: The corresponding author responsible for submission the manuscript through online system to the QMJ.
  2. Structural Assessment: The Editorial Board checks the manuscript composition and arrangement against the journal's Author Guidelines and to make sure it fit with aim and scope of QMJ prior to go through processing system.
  3. Plagiarism Checkup: The manuscript at this point is tested by QMJ depend on  Turnitin  for similarity results, if it is less than 20%, the article is considered for reviewer assigning; else, the article is rejected due to similarity results.
  4. Reviewers process: The Editor-Board sends invitations to scientific reviewer with the same specialty of submitted manuscript, at the same time Editorial Board have a policy to make sure there is no conflicts of interest concerning choosing of reviewers, in addition the average time for response is limited within 2 weeks after that a 2nd reminder will send.
  5. Review is Conducted:  the reviewers may feel comfortable rejecting the article without further work. Otherwise, they will read the article, taking notes so as to build a detailed point-by-point review. The reviewer’s notes are then submitted to the journal, with a recommendation to accept or reject it – or else with a request for revision (either major or minor).
  6. Journal Evaluates reviewer’s notes: The Editor-in-Chief considers all the returned reviews before making an overall decision. If the reviews differ widely, the editor may invite an additional reviewer so as to get an extra opinion before making final decision.
  7. Primarily Decision: The Editor-in-Chief sends a decision email to the author including any relevant reviewer comments. The reviewer's name is anonymous to the author (s).
  8. Author Send Revised Manuscript: The author should do the changes the required by the reviewer to do.
  9. Final Decision: If accepted, the author should pay the publication fee, and the article sends to the page designer then to the publisher.
